We are shocked that legislators went home without using the $9 billion budget surplus to ensure access to care for Minnesota's seniors. But there's still a way for lawmakers to make it right! Gov. Walz can call a special session, and they can finish their work!
We need to make sure he knows just how critical it is to send relief! Contact Gov. Walz TODAY! Ask him to call a special session and support the Senate's proposal to pay caregivers the wages they deserve and ensure access to care.

Hello again!
I hope you have been out and about walking in nature or out by the lake or even in your own backyard enjoying the warm weather. I just wanted to send out this information I found on the " Net" regarding feeding strategies for our nursing home residents. Sometimes we all get in a hurry and are focused on the task that needs to be done next and forget to follow some of these safe swallowing/feeding strategies. Please read through them as a helpful reminder for all of us. I also wanted to send out a BIG thank you to all of the staff who come forward to let me know when one of our residents is having increased difficulty with their swallowing and/or speech and cognition. Have a great summer!!! Cathy Jylha, SLP

Dear Residents and Families,
We had two staff members that tested positive for Covid-19. Please be aware that Covid-19 positivity rates are continuing to increase throughout St. Louis County. During any visit, continued diligence of our infection prevention and control practices is critical. This includes following our screening protocols, face mask compliance, alcohol hand rub, and social distancing. All visits must remain in the resident room and visitors should not be meeting with their loved ones in communal areas. There is a visitor instruction sheet at the front entrance with more details. The most effective tool to protect against Covid-19 is to adhere to the above guidelines as well as be fully vaccinated and receive booster vaccines. If you are interested in becoming vaccinated, you can contact their local health prover or pharmacy for more information. We are following recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). .
Please follow our Facebook page (@Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center) or our website (www.sfhs.org) for all COVID updates and information on what is happening inside our care center. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Shane P. Roche, Administrator, at 218-231-8106 if you have any questions or concerns.
